I Shall Wear Midnight by Terry Pratchett

I love the books with Tiffany Aching in them. This was a good one, and I am sad that it is the fourth and final of the Tiffany Aching books. If you haven’t read these books, “Crivens!” (You would remember them if you had.) Then you should run, not walk, to the library to check out The Wee Free Men (the first book in this series).

Tiffany is now the witch of the chalk. And I love to see how she has to fix everything that happened due to one mistake that she made in the previous books. It just goes to show that even if you think you took care of the problem that you created (by kissing Winter after having danced in a dance she wasn’t supposed to dance in) sometimes there are layers of consequences that need to be addressed.

I also love how the Wee Free Men are still all over and into everything. I would have been really sad if they had not popped up on every other page as they destroyed anything and everything in their wake while trying to be “helpful.”

And I really love Preston. I mean, finally there is a young man who is as interesting to read about as Tiffany. And of course you all know how I really like it when two interesting characters can meet and then become “friends.”

I just love this series, and this book is a great finale for it. Too bad it is over!

  1. Just going through and reading old posts. 🙂 Have you ever read Good Omens by Terry Pratchett? I had a friend recommend it on the basis that it’s wildly amusing but I have yet to read it.
