Snow Bunny’s Christmas Wish
Snow Bunny has decided to ask for only one thing for Christmas. She writes to Santa and asks for a friend. She just misses posting her letter before the mail bird leaves. So Snow Bunny must take her letter to Santa on her own. For her journey she packs a few things: some mittens, star cookies, and a map of how to get to Santa’s house. On her journey she runs into a bear cub with cold paws and gives her mittens away. She finds a small fox who doesn’t have anything to help decorate the Christmas tree and gives away her star-shaped cookies. Then she finds some fawns who were lost and Snow Bunny gave them her map. Finally she gets to Santa to give him her letter. Santa mysteriously talks about how Snow Bunny will have to wait and see if she will get her Christmas wish for a friend. Then Santa takes her home. And there at her house are all her new friends that she made waiting to thank her for her help.
This is one of those super sweet Christmas stories. There are cuddly, loveable illustrations accented with silver foil bits on each page so they sparkle. Even though it is quite obvious to those reading the story that Snow Bunny’s actions will help her make friends, the youngsters who are listening to the story will enjoy touching the sparkly spot color and will be pleased when in fact there are a whole bunch of friends waiting for her once she gets back home. However, this is one of those so sweet stories that will be enjoyed for a few weeks at the holidays but might be forgotten until it comes back out next winter.
