A little mole loved labeling everything. If there was an object (or an animal) near Mole he would label it. Then Mole found something that he wasn’t sure what it was. It was lumpy so he put a “lumpy” label on it. But it was also “chunky”, “scaly”, “huge”, and quite a few other things. To top it all off this thing was “Dangerous!” Of course the sleeping alligator (or is it a crocodile?) wakes up and then eats all the labels. And it continues to follow Mole around. Pretty soon Mole decides that there is one more label for the giant lizard that he needs to make–“friend”. This is a fun little story about how a little one might not know the names of everything around him, but he can try to figure out the world by looking at what he does know and going from there. And not everything is necessarily what it seems like it is from the start. And taking your time to really understand new things might be a good idea. A fun little story that little ones who “know” just what that big green thing is will enjoy reading if only to see what Mole thinks in the end.
