Rex Wrecks It!

Gizmo, Sprinkles, and Wild like to build things with blocks. But Rex likes wrecking the things that they have built. Of course there is a lot of building and a lot of wrecking. But in the end each of the different characters learn what it might take to make each of them happy. Rex is a energetic T-Rex that seems to always have mischief come his way. Gizmo (the robot), Sprinkles (the pink bunny/unicorn), and Wild (the monster) are cute and expressive. Youngsters will clearly be able to tell when they are happily building and when they are sad after Rex ruins their creations. The simplicity of the background helps keep the attention on the characters, their feelings, and the amazing block creations. Young kiddos will enjoy seeing how they all come together and how they work through their problems.

What to do after reading this book:
Build something with blocks.
Wreck a tower of blocks (or two or three).
Play with your friends. Take turns choosing what to do.
Talk about feelings and how you can tell what others are thinking from their facial expressions.
See how high you can build a block tower.
