This is a great book for reading one on one with young kiddos. I really liked the muted tones and textures in the illustrations. Each page has a picture of an egg (then two, three, etc.) and some information about what might hatch. Then with a lift-the-flap readers can see what babies (and their parents) come from the eggs. A sweet book.
What to Do After Reading This Book:
Go for a walk and look at all the animals that hatch from eggs.
Count the number of eggs in your fridge.
Dye some eggs to be different colors.
Get some eggs and watch them hatch.
What this Does for Kids:
Shows that some animals come from eggs…even though they are very different they might start out the same (reptiles, birds, etc.)
Helps kids count.
Teaches kids to look for clues as to what might hatch from various eggs.
Shows how all eggs are not the same as the eggs in a refrigerator.
